BACKGROUND CHECK

Good day ladies and gentlemen!
My name is Monica Abad, but I’d rather be called Matet or Monic because I feel young with these names. I am a development Communication Student, major in Development Journalism at  Benguet State University … It’s not yet New Year but here am I, making my first ever post for my newest blog. Looking back, my name was derived from my parents initial joined by “ni” (Melina Oidi ni Cecilio Abad). Since I am the last child, my name was the product of their enduring love with each other. However, when I was still developing as a human, no one knows that my mother is carrying me in her womb. I don’t know why she hid me that even my father and sibling’s never thought that there would be another baby to be taken care of. It was a cold night in 20th of October, 1994 when her secret was revealed, horrifically surprising all her relatives and acquaintances. I believe that how my mother cared me on her womb affected my personality. I grew up hiding, fearful and quiet that is why I prefer to be alone most of the time. However, because of my environment I learned how to befriend with others. Since I am quiet, I prefer writing than speaking. I learned to love and appreciate writing when I was in my grade school. Through it, I could express my unspoken thoughts.
I don’t have my favorite anecdote. I like them all and nothing is best for me. But I live with one principle, “My labor is not in vain in the Lord,” This is a part of the verse, 1st Cor. 15:58, which means never be afraid to invest in God’s business. If you want something you never had, do something for the Lord you never did.

This blog was created as a subject requirement in one of our major subject, DevC 124 or Advance Development Writing. This is not just a mere requirement but this is one way on how could we enhance our writing abilities believing that through writing, we could be an efficient development communicator in the future.
